General Information:

Act 132: Home Contractor Registration

In 2008, the Pennsylvania Legislature passed the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act. The law requires that all contractors who perform at least $5,000 worth of home improvements per year register with the Attorney General's Office.

As of July 1, 2009, consumers in Pennsylvania will be able to verify your registration with the Attorney General's Office. Click here to register with the Attorney General's Office.

REQUIRED PERMITS:

BUILDING PERMITS - Required for new construction and additions or alterations extending the exterior of existing structures. All plans for construction of new houses and / or commercial structures, as well as, new additions to houses or commercial structures that require a footing, must be approved by the Building Inspector before a building permit will be issued.
- Inspections will be performed when deemed applicable and at:
  - footing, before pouring
  - foundation
  - framing
  - insulation and fire seal
  - final, before the issuance of an occupancy permit
ZONING PERMITS - examples of zoning permits that are required would be for sheds, fences, patios, grading , retaining walls, signs, etc.
SEWAGE PERMITS - Required for the installation of a new septic system and for the repair or enlargement of an existing system.
MOVING PERMITS - Required when moving into, out of, or within Upper Milford Township.
OCCUPANCY PERMITS - Required when occupying a newly constructed dwelling.
DRIVEWAY PERMITS - Required for the construction of a new driveway or other means of ingress or egress onto a township road. Construction of a new driveway, alteration of an existing driveway.
PARK PERMITS - Required in order to reserve a pavilion in a township park.
PEDDLER'S LICENSE - Must be obtained before engaging in peddling in Upper Milford Township.

Upper Milford

Yard Waste Facility Site

The Yard waste drop off site returns to normal hours of operation beginning Monday,

January 9, 2012.

Hours of operation:

Wednesdays:

12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., but no later than one 1/2

hour past dusk.

Saturdays:

12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.

Closed Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, & Holidays.

Branches and other accepted yard waste materials can be taken to the Township yard-waste drop-off site located behind the Municipal Garage off of Church View Road

THE OFFICIAL YARD WASTE SITE IS LOCATED BEHIND THE MUNICIPAL GARAGE.

This is strictly for UMT resident use only; no commercial at all.

There is mulch available for residents to be loaded onto their vehicles with the backhoe. This service used to be free, this year we are beginning to charge and the fee is $5 per scoop.

MOVING

If you are moving CLICK HERE, it is required by Ordinance No. 18A that all people moving in, out or within the Township to complete a moving permit. This is a no fee moving permit. This can be mailed to the Township or e-mailed to info@uppermilford.net

It is a requirement that any landlord that has a tenant complete a landlord tenant registration. Click Here, it is no fee. E-mail it to info@uppermilford.net
